NFL trade rumors: Patriots interested in Lions WR Golden Tate

The Lions will have options if they decide to move Golden Tate.

Detroit has received calls inquiring about their willingness to deal the 30-year-old wide receiver, according to a report from NFL Network. Detroit is unlikely to trade Tate, but may be willing to move him in exchange for a mid-round draft pick, the report says.

The Patriots are “particularly interested” in Tate, as well as Broncos wideout Demaryius Thomas, according to a separate report from NFL Network.

Tate is in the final season of the five-year, $31 million contract he signed with Detroit in March 2014.

The nine-year veteran has caught 44 passes for 517 yards and three touchdowns in seven games this season.

Tate, who spent his first four NFL seasons with the Seahawks, has averaged 11.9 yards per reception and hauled in 37 touchdowns in 129 career games.

The Lions fell to 3-4 this season when they lost to the Seahawks last weekend. They’ll face the Vikings in Week 9 action Sunday.
