NBA playoffs wrap 2019: Raptors, 76ers advance with blowout wins

The first two games Tuesday weren’t competitive at all.

Toronto and Philadelphia both blew out their opponents in Game 5 to advance to the second round.

Both sides were upset in Game 1, but won four straight to eliminate their opponents.

The Raptors topped the Magic 115-96 behind a 27-point performance from Kawhi Leonard.

Toronto moved the ball well and won the assist battle, 34-20.

On the other side, the 76ers jumped out to a 14-0 lead en route to a 122-100 victory over the Nets.

Joel Embiid posted a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds in just 20 minutes in Philadelphia’s dominant win.

The 76ers and Raptors will now face each other in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Studs of the Night

Pascal Siakam totaled 24 points in Toronto’s win.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson tallied 21 points for the Nets.

Duds of the Night

Jonathan Isaac scored three points on 1-of-7 shooting in the Magic’s loss.

D’Angelo Russell scored eight points on 3-of-16 shooting for the Nets.

Highlights

Ben Simmons ended Philadelphia’s first quarter with a slam at the rim.

Marc Gasol with the big block of D.J. Augustin’s floater, which helped the Raptors get out on the break.

Derrick White initiated the spin cycle against the Nuggets for an acrobatic finish.

What’s Next?

Jazz at Rockets 8 p.m. ET — Houston missed an opportunity to sweep Utah on Monday. But now it’ll get a chance to finish things off at the Toyota Center. Should the Rockets and Warriors win on Wednesday, the much anticipated matchup between the two could get underway soon.
